Next Army Chief: Manoj Mukund Naravane

Lieutenant General Manoj Mukund Naravane will be the next Army Chief and will assume office on 1 January 2020. He will be the 28th Army Chief of India after the 27th Army Chief of India Bipin Rawat .

ABOUT

He was born on 22 April 1960 at Pune in Bombay. He belongs from a Marathi family. His father was also a former officer in the Indian Air Force who retired in the rank of Wing Commander and his mother was an announcer with the All India Radio. He completed his schooling at the Jnana Prabodhini Prashala in Pune. He did his master's from the University Of Madras and M.Phil in Defence and Management Studies from Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya, Indore. Naravane was commissioned into 7th battalion The Sikh Light Infantry in June 1980.Regarded as a strict and cautious officer, the 59-year-old Naravane is said to be a China expert. He has served long years along the China and Pakistan border. At currently he is Vice Chief Of Army Staff.


He has also commanded a Rashtriya Rifles Battalion in Jammu and Kashmir and an infantry brigade on the eastern front.

Introduction : On  12 November 2007  ISRO and Russian Federal Space Agency signed an agreement that they work together in the Chandrayaan 2 project .   Launch : Chandrayaan-2 launch was initially scheduled for 14 July 2019. But the launch was postponed as it was relaunched on 22 July 2019 from Satish Dhawan Space Centre. It was India’s second mission on the moon after Chandrayaan 1.
